Class Information
PE Day for Class 13 is on a Tuesday: please ensure pupils wear appropriate kit in to school every week (shorts/ jogging bottoms, trainers and a t-shirt with a warm jumper for the winter weather).
Reading books: Please aim to read with your child for at least 10 minutes every day and leave a note in their reading record. As soon as they complete their book they can change it in school. Please let me know if you want any further help with reading at home!
Water bottles: please label and send in every day. Only water will be allowed in class.
Snack: we are a healthy school so healthy snacks only please.
Jumpers: Often prone to going missing, please label these clearly so we can find and return them when they get lost!
Homework : English (including spellings) and Maths homework is given and returned every FRIDAY. Homework will be accessed through our Google Classroom.

I have been a teacher at Cyfarthfa Park Primary School for many years now and it's an amazing school to work at. It's like one big family!
I taught for a number of years in the infants, however I have recently returned from maternity leave and have started my first year of teaching in year 5. I am very much looking forward to new adventures with my wonderful class.
I live with my partner and handsome baby boy. I love to spend time with them and being outdoors, taking walks at the beach with a cake and coffee in hand is a favourite weekend activity.
I have played netball ever since I was in Primary school, my favourite postions to play are C and WA.
I am super excited for the year ahead with Dosbarth 13, we have very interesting topics planned and super fun trips to look forward to!

I have worked at Cyfarthfa Park Primary since September 2021 and I absolutely love it. Outside of school I love playing football and rugby, but my favourite hobby is spending time with my little girl Rosie! We love going for walks on the beach and trips to the library, she is a real book worm! The thing I like best about working in Class 13 is how great they all work as a team and how they care about each other.
Our Autumn topic is: Merthyr's Heroes and Villains
How much do you know of Merthyr's past? What made Merthyr great? Should we be proud of Merthyr? Who are the heroes and villains of the past, is it a clear cut answer? This term we delve into the past! We hope to see you at our Museum takeover day in December.
C14 all enjoyed our trip to Techniquest. They were all enthusiastic and enjoyed exploring all day long!
Our Enterprise Project was a success!!!!
The children had so much fun working collaboratively to design prototypes, deliver persuasive presentations in Dragon's Den and create final products to sell during Sports Day for Mind Mental Health Charity!
What a fun end of year trip we all had at Heatherton!
And that's a wrap on our Spring Term Topic - Mind, Body and Soul!
Our Autumn Topic was Heroes and Villains: Why is Merthyr so Special
A trip to Cyfarthfa Castle museum for further research into the life and times of the Crawshay family and their ironworkers. Soon we will be writing a biography on Richard Crawshay!
We've some work to do on our presenting skills but the confidence, enthusiasm and willingness is there!
Cyfarthfa Castle - Photos
That's a wrap! We had so much fun taking over Cyfarthfa Castle and sharing all we learned with our families. The children showed great enthusiasm towards their learning and learned lots of new things!

I am currently on maternity leave but I'm staying here so you don't forget about me!
This is my 8th year teaching at Cyfarthfa Park Primary School and it is truly a wonderful place to work. It is lovely to teach such kind, unique and hard working pupils.
I am extremely excited to be teaching in year 5 this year.
I adore seeing other people achieve great things and doing more than they thought they could. It is one of the reasons I became a teacher.
My favourite subjects to teach are Drama, English, RE and PE. I love all things that are active, creative and imaginative and have a real passion for reading and exploring the great outdoors.
Outside of school I love spending time with my family and friends. I had my first child 3 years ago and she is simply magic! We love exploring and going for long walks together as a family.
