Meet the Team for 2024-2025!
Shwmae, Mrs Coombes ydw i. I am excited to join the Cyfarthfa Park Primary School team as a class teacher in class 3. I have been a teacher for 9 years and I absolutely love my job. In my spare time I love going to the beach, watching musicals and eating nice food. I am a proud Mam to two small children who I love to spend time with.
Shwmae, Ms Jenkins ydw i.

I am looking forward to meeting all of the new children this year and supporting them on their journey.
In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family, especially with my 2 grandchildren.

Baby It's Cold Outside
Our topic this term is 'Baby It's Cold Outside'. We plan to focus pupils learning around the key concepts of:
Tradition
Resilience
Care
We will explore these concepts through an enquiry based approach.
Our enquiry question this term will be:
Should we look after animals more in the Winter than Summer?
This term our story is How The Robin Got It's Red Breast. Every day we practice learning parts of the story using a text map and physical actions developed by our class. Every day we build on our knowledge of the story by learning the next sentence and over the term each individual becomes more confident at retelling the story orally.
"Children who are read to at home, or who come from an oral tradition of storytelling, embed such patterns without really knowing it, as if some form of linguistic osmosis was at work. At this early stage, it is significant that the child is ‘hearing’ the language. This matters because we learn language by hearing it and then by saying it. So, storytelling and rhyme chanting are powerful aspects of acquiring language patterns that might not be met in everyday talk." Pie Corbett 2008.
