Croeso i Dosbarth 9

Our Concepts

Community     Diversity    Creativity

Things for you to know about the Year 3 this term:

English focus: We will be researching, exploring and creating all things 'Carnival'! We will be creating presentations, posters, poems, stories, article and adverts to discover the beauty and magic of carnivals all around the world!

Math focus: This half-term we will focusing on multiplication and division where we will be recalling 6, 7, 8 and 9 times tables and using different techniques -both concrete and abstract- such as counting on, grouping and memorising through songs, chants, games and creative visuals to apply to multiplication ad division problems.

Topic: Our topic this term is Carnival. We are sure that the pupils will love discovering the exciting, creative and colourful world of Carnival. It's a topic that encompasses a wide range of AOLEs such as Expressive arts, Humanities, Mathematics, Language, Health and Well-being and STEM and will awaken curiosity though lots of time spent investigating the world around them. The three concepts are Creativity, Community and Diversity - where we will be looking at carnivals all over the world and how they impact cultures, beliefs and values in others' and in our own lives.

Welsh: Alongside daily Helper Heddiw questions/phrases and Criw Cymraeg sessions, this term we will looking at Ourselves and Our friends and the things we like and dislike. We will be practising phrases, such as,
'Pa liw wyt ti'n hoffi?'
'Dw i'n hoffi...

Pa liw mae Sam yn ei hoffi?

Mae Sam yn hoffi...

Health and Well-being: This is at the heart of our work. It is key to ensure all children are happy and safe coming to school and are happy while they are with us. We will be doing lots of work on feelings, kindness and looking  at what makes a good friend and makes them happy and also setting ourselves appropriate goals and challenges!

Hi all, my name is Mr Pinch and I am the class teacher within Dosbarth 9, and I'm luckily working with the amazing pupils in

Year 3  every day.

I massively enjoy teaching, always have, for me it really is my dream job.

When not teaching I spend time with my family or helping out within my local rugby club.

If I get a little free time I love cycling, running, mountain walking or taking breaks in  my caravan, away chasing the sun!

Mrs Poplawska (Mrs Pop) ydw i, I will be helping both year 3 classes whilst Mrs Jones is away.

I am very creative and enjoy keeping active. I love working in the school with such lovely children and staff. I especially enjoy seeing the children succeed and create wonderful work with a growing indepenence.

Miss Williams ydw i. I am a 1:1 staff member of a wonderful young lady in the year 3 class.  I have been in the school since 2021 and have loved every minute!

I enjoy keeping fit, especially yoga, and staying active, being creative and having fun with my friends and spending time with my  two boys in my spare time.
